Winter has officially started to arrive. The air is cold. The storms are here. Darkness falls at a rather early hour. The raccoons are out in full force. At least that's was you assume is getting into your garbage can at the wee hours of the morning. Annoyed with them you have to go out and buy some bungee chords to keep the lid tied down. Little did you know that 83% of the time that your garbage has been spilled all over and rummaged through, was really the works of oversized rats.

Where did the rats come from? They have
always been here, but due to all of the clear cutting that has been recently taken place the rats that live in those forests are fleeing to populated areas. These rats are unfortunately much larger than the rats that we normally have here which were decently sized to begin with. So, now the question, what to do about the rats? We are not really certain considering a normal rat trap wouldn't even come close to catching one of these extremely large rats. I personally camp out in my driveway with infrared night goggles with my shot gun in hand waiting. Although this isn't the safest method its very affective. So, be creative and come up with your own rat traps. [Ed.Note: Every CB Resident has a great racoon story. Wanna share yours with us?
